Assignments
- Week of September 18: Startup bibliography; mentor introduction
- Week of October 2: Search journal; research journal entry for September
- Week of October 16: Annotated bibliography
- Week of October 23: Elevator story
- Week of October 30: Proposal draft
- Week of November 6: Research journal entry for October; (voluntary) Presentation rough drafts for workshopping
- Week of November 13: Presentation draft
- Week of November 27: Annotated bibliography addendum
- Week of December 4: Research journal entry for November
- Week of December 11: Final proposal and presentation
N.B. You have around one month from the first deliverable (startup bibliography + mentor introduction) before the first truly big one is due (annotated bibliography), with the intervening ones being relatively short, journal-style items. However, the next sizable deliverables (proposal draft, presentation draft) are then due two weeks apart after the annotated bibliography. After those, you will have around one month before the final proposal and presentation are due.
The upshot: the course work ramps up closer to the middle of the semester rather than the end. Plan your time accordingly. You will want to be primarily in “refinement mode” by the middle of November.
